Introducing AW25

Introducing AW25

Since 1972, we’ve never really stood still. While we’ve always stayed true to our roots, making hardy, functional clothing, that’s always been an ongoing process—and we’re constantly honing and refining what we do to make the best gear possible.

This season we’ve really drummed down on the key influences of Stan Ray—taking our favourite details from classic outdoor, workwear, military and sportswear design and bringing them right up to date with a few modern touches. It’s the kind of sturdy, do-it-all Americana that’s as at home chopping firewood outside an upstate cabin as it is getting you through winter in the city.

Starting with our outerwear, for AW25 our range of jackets and coats is bigger than ever. The Mackinaw Jacket is our take on a Pacific Northwest classic. With a short, sharp shape, the perfect plaid and those all-important integrated upper pocket-flaps, it’s just how you’d want a jacket like this to be—with exactly the right amount of Brando On the Waterfront flavour. Think of it like the slightly chunkier older brother of our Quilted Plaid Overshirt—with a zip front instead of a button placket.

Continuing the checked theme, the Down Plaid Vest is a super-versatile gilet / bodywarmer / whatever-you-want-to-call-it that’s really warm, without being too bulky, meaning it works just as well under a big coat as it does over a lighter jacket. Built with cold weather in mind, those press studs down the front making putting this on a breeze, even when you can barely feel your fingers.

The Roughneck Bomber is another new design for AW25. Taking cues from vintage workwear design, it’s a reassuringly tough piece of kit made from thick cotton canvas. Those ribbed cuffs and hem keep the draught out on brisk winter mornings, while that washed-out hue gives it a nicely worn in feel, without the need for a few years’ toil down at the construction site.

The Hunters Jacket is back too. Our version of classic mid-century cotton hunting jackets, it combines hard-wearing cotton twill with a particularly luxurious corduroy collar—making it ideal for both town and country.

And for stashing underneath, there’s the Patch Crew Hoodie and Pocket Tee. Stripped-back and washed-out—these are the prime layering pieces that work with anything. Picking a colour is the hardest part. We’ve also got plenty of prints if that’s more your thing—with some particularly strong lettering which looks straight off a mid-80s hardcore 7”.

What about the legwear? Well, as ever—we’ve pulled out all the stops, with the kind of function-led pants we’ve been making since the early 70s. Of course there’s our Core Classics (like our Painter Pants and OG Fatigues) which probably don’t need much explaining—but in the mix this time you’ll also find more recent favourites like the ultra-tough Double Knee Pants and the loose-fitting A Pants, along with a new one for AW25… the Utility Pants.

Sitting somewhere between climbing-pants and work-pants, these feature a handy integrated belt and an elasticated waist, along with some nice big pockets. There’s probably a fancier word we could use here to describe them, but without a thesaurus to hand, we’ll just sum these up by saying they’re very, very useful, and you don’t need to be scrambling up El Cap with a blindfold on to feel the benefit.

This same kind of ready-for-anything hardiness extends right through the range—from our canvas Big Totes to the chunky Waffle Beanie—everything is made to be used and used and used, year after year after year. It’s workwear for far more than just work—whatever you do, however you live, it’ll probably come in pretty handy.
